When you type "ping www.yahoo.com" how does the computer come up with an IP address?

When I type it, it says the following:

Pinging www.yahoo-ht3.akadns.net [209.131.36.158] with 32 bytes of data:

Where does it get that weird looking name and that ip address? Does it always say the same thing for everybody? What does it say for you?
