Some lady hit my car and I took my car to get the side fixed they gave me a rental but before I turned it in to them it was dirty as hell..both inside and out. I haven't washed it since the summer. So I just wanted to know if autobody shops clean/wash your car for you after they're done repairing it? I know two other times with my old car they did, and once they even detailed it..anyone?

They used to, gave it to you like it was brand new. Now about a year ago I had someone hit my car parked, wiped out mirrors, glass in car etc. They fixed car but never vacuumed out glass. When i asked why they said insurance company doesn't pay for that.

So was it a bad shop, or is this becoming the norm, i guess you will be able to tell us.

The body shop that I worked at did a full detail inside and out at no extra charge to the customer. Even if it was just a scratch on the outside, they should at least vacuum it out since the workers had to get in it and pull it inside the shop and back out. I would definitely complain at the way they left your car. The manager might not know what's going on if you don't say anything. This would affect the amount of his customers.
