...obligated to paint the house? We moved into this house in Aug. 1998 and signed a 1 year lease. We have been on a month to month basis since then and have never signed another lease, even when a property manager took over 2 years ago. The property manager is upset that we only gave 30 days notice and is demanding that we leave the house in the condition we found it. I have no problem cleaning the house from top to bottom and removing all yard debris/waste, but I have a hard time believing that it is my responsibility to paint this house as I have been told by him. I plan on filling all nail/tack holes, but matching the paint color to "touch up" as he said, is out of the question on 11 year old paint. Please advise if you can about the laws in Va. or any advice you may have. Thanks in advance!
