When you had your baby, did you prefer to have visitors at the hospital or at home?

A friend of mine (who came to see me the night I had my daughter, mind you, and while the LC was helping me!) is saying she doesn't want any visitors after her planned c-section until they get home. This is her first baby. Does that seem weird to anyone? What did you prefer?
I am just wondering if this is normal, cause it seems odd to me. She was not concerned at all when I told her after my c-section that it wasn't a good time to visit b/c the LC was coming. If she doesn't want visitors, so be it. I will respect her decision even though she ignored mine.

I prefer the hospital, while nurses and doctors are there to pamper you. Once you get home, you and the baby need peace and quiet and time to adjust.

I wanted them at the hospital because 1. I was sooo bored, I didn't get to leave for 4 days because I couldn't get her latch right. and 2. I knew my house would be messy for the first few weeks.

I didn't prefer either. In my third pregnancy, I was exhausted and I just wanted the peace of mind that they couldn't and wouldn't give me.. It's not weird... Maybe she didn't want to have a C-section.. I remember, with my second pregnancy, I had stillbirth (I had an abortion the first time) I couldn't face the world.. They didn't even let me see my child..
I guess it's either that she wanted to give natural birth to the child, or she's just exhausted and worn out..

i prefered them IN the hospital but she may not want them because she will be in pain and it will be hard to get up after the section. my son was born 4 weeks early and his shower was 5 days after he was born ( on the original date). before the shower i just wanted to relax and concentrate on nursing

also he was born at 5 am after 19 hours of labor so there were 3 people there including daddy. i'm sure no one else wanted to get up at 5 am to com down there lol. they waited until about noon.

I loved having visitors the whole time, although it got very crowded at the hospital and there was pretty much a line up to see us most of the time. Maybe she just wants close family to keep it a little less hectic. Since it is her first she may be afraid of how she will be feeling after as well.
