when you enlarge a photo on the computer, is the pixelation about the same as...

...on a photo of the same size? My question may not be clear. But I have a photo program installed on my computer. When I enlarge the photo on my computer really big, it gets pixelated. Obviously when I enlarge the photo on paper, it does the same thing. What I want to know is, are they equivalent? Will the same amount of pixelization occur for the same size photo regardless of whether it is on the monitor or paper? For example lets say I have an 8x10 photo up on my monitor. It has slight pixelization. If I print the same 8x10 on paper, will it have the exact same pixelization?
