The planets will never truly align in space. The alignments being touted are only apparent alignments in our view of the sky. That isn't anything approaching an actual alignment in space. That doesn't happen because the orbits are not all in the same plane. In 1983, there was an apparent alignment of all the planets. In 2000 or 2003, there was another apparent alignment. I don't recall how many of the planets were included in that one. The point here is that you don't have to fear a "planetary alignment" because an actual alignment is never going to happen and these apparent alignments have no effect whatever, except for making a nice show for Astronomy buffs.
