The figure they generally throw around is 1 degree celsius in 100 to 200 years and a sea level rise of 17, inches at most.
Run for the hills and stock up on bermuda shorts!

The dire effects of global warming have been postponed indefinitely by the inconvenient intrusion of reality.

This might not be the answer you are looking for but the fact remains that what I'm about to relay are also effects of mankind's reaction to his PERCEIVED role in ANY Global Warming which MIGHT occur.

Many people around the world think it's only right that the USA take the hit...They remind us that we are just 13% of the worlds population and yet use 25% of the world's energy. What they don't mention is that we are also 23% of the world's total aggregate economic output. We are doing things with that energy. A reduction in our economic output impoverishes not just us but the world as well.

We are in a recession right now, achieving the 5-10% reduction in CO2 output will turn that recession into a Depression. To cut our CO2 emissions in any meaningful way will involve in not just a scaling back, but a reduction in our economic growth. EVERYONE will pay more for the energy they use. The price of food and basic staples will also increase.

And when all is said and done the rest of the world will not follow our lead. Why because their economies are less robust than ours and can't take the hit. So after all that sacrifice, don't expect CO2 releases to drop.

So expect our country 30 years from now to be TRILLIONS ($0,000,000,000,000.00) poorer with nothing to show for it

And if you think that the impoverishment of our society is a small price to pay for the reduction in CO2. Just remember that it also means less monies for protecting the environment from REAL pollution. Impoverished countries spend less to protect nature...The richer a country is...The cleaner it's ecology.

Climate change is occurring, but long range predictions are poor.

Global warming is not just for our kids and grandkids to deal with. Climate change is here. A decade ago, it was debatable. Now the future is unfolding before our eyes.

Climate change is evident worldwide: in melting Artic Sea ice[1], world-wide glacial retreat[2], Antarctica snowmelt[3][4], changing ocean currents[5], changing ocean chemistry[6][7], spread of tropical disease[8], altered patterns of agriculture[9], sea level rise[10][11], etc...

Billions of people face shortages of food and water and increased risk of flooding, climate experts from the IPCC have warned. Many of these risks will probably come as early as 2020.[12] These findings have been supported by independent research groups.[13]
