Will it be before they suck up all the world's oil resources or after? and can governments put more pressure on oil giants such as BP, Exxon Mobil, Shell etc to speed up the transition.

I know a lot of them invested in oil explorations...
It's not clear why they denigrate green fuels...
Ethanol and Hydrogen are even more performant than oil and have a great availability ! Only one-eighth of Brazil is 100 million hectares, than can be used to produce more than 500 million tonnes of ethanol and a great quantity of biomass from sugar cane.

Oil companies move oil. Investment in alternative sources is a business decision. If the oil companies don't invest, than it's not worth the money just yet.

Never. They're in the oil business. If you want renewable energy, go start a renewable energy company.
