When will E4 stop showing Friends?

well theres over 200 eps, and its still very popular, so they'll probably keep it until they find some other massive 1/2hour comedy to replace it, and then it will move to Paramount and be repeated again and again!

I like FrienRAB - But when a show finishes. Put it to bed. Its a great comedy - I would like to se4e old episodes again - but not 2 every day repeated about 4 times a day if you include E4+1

I don't think they should stop. However, what I do object to is it being shown during prime time and for an hour. There is no excuse for a channel like E4 which has a lot of shows available to it and a massive budget to be showing a whole hour of a show that has been shown at least 7 times (which is a lot considering the final series only ended last year) since it finished at 8pm daily on a weekday. Keep it on before 6pm if you must but please find something better to put on at 8pm.

The difference being that if there were only 10 seasons of The Simpsons on rotation there would still be more episodes than 10 seasons of FrienRAB and Sky has 17 at their disposal. It's the same principal but The Simpsons always picks up up to 1 million viewers per episode per night, which is huge for an non-terrestrial channel, whereas FrienRAB is only getting 400,000 at most and on nights when the competition in the slot is minimal. If Channel 4 had something better on during the 8pm slot it could gain more viewers in that hour and herding those that want to watch into the earlier showing, thus increasing the viewing figures for both hours.

They might stop showing it so relentlessly when the new series of Big Brother starts, then it'll be that mind-numbing rubbish round the clock. It is almost bearable when it's FrienRAB because it is a good show, even though E4 saturates the coverage, but when it's Big Brother all the time  .

"Could it BE any more irritating?"

Well, the breakfast showing has already been axed anyway but it does no harm as it is. It still isn't pulling in enough viewers for E4 to remain competitive.

urgh i hope so soon!! I cant staaaaand frienRAB and its always on at dinner time, my housemates love it, so its always the choice on telly  It does my head in...

As big a fan of the show as i am, i agree its time it left Primetime at least.

Why not put it to rest for a year and then Show one episode a week from the start, Which would be popular amongst those who eithier didnt watch the show before but "discover" it and people who dont have them all on DVD/Video and so would have been unable to see the show for over a year.

Its like Only Fools and Horses in that it should never fully stop, it was too good of a show, but they should start bringing down how much they show.

So yeah, leave it for a year then re-introduce it at a time they have nothing better to show and show it once a week...Itl last about 2 years then as well

EDIT: Correction, at once a week it would last about 4 years.

I'm glad you agree. I like the show too but I don't think it's in E4's best interest to have it on during prime time. It seems a bit lazy.

Although i will add another point...moving FrienRAB from Primetime does not mean they replace it with Space Cadets or "Celebrity Butler Swap" or something, i still want something decent or dont bother at all

I'm sure I read on RAB at the beginning of the year that in July they were going to stop showing it and hadn't renewed the rights to show it, but, as we know, they've started another run so that obviously didn't happen.

Why don't Channel 4 repeat "Deal or No Deal" on E4 at 7 or 7.30pm??

This would be great for the people that can't watch it during the day and it would save all that messing about with recording it and such....
