...first created? In newspapers, and in particular in The Age (in Melbourne, Australia), there are 'letters to the editor' section or the 'comment' section where people can send in their opinions and they get published.

I was wondering when they were first created?

I thought those sections were created quite recently but apparently, they have been there for a very long time. So if you know the answer, please provide it for me and also how you know about it (it's for my essay and I need to explain how I know it)
