to go that far? What's another phrase for "pulling out all the stops"? You can use that phrase instead if you'd like, as you describe what you did, and why, and what you were trying to accomplish when you pulled them out.
For Australians, etc. > It means to "go all out". According to Princeton Univ. dictionary:
(idiomatic) To reserve or hold back nothing.
