...glaze? When sculpting with water-based clay, do you fire the sculpture with or without the glaze? I am a first timer and I am trying to make a bust for my favorite artist to show him how much I admire him. Any advise is welcome. Also, If I use copper or aluminum wire as the base, is it safe to fire that, as well?
Is there a different way (inner base/filling) that I can sculpt it with that won't cause it to crack?
I need it to be sturdy and not easily broken because it's going to be shipped overseas and we all know that delivery men can be brutes when handling anything that is being sent anywhere.
