Not really, that's simply deceitful and is completely against everything you will be taught in the military.

Man up and give your parents some respect whether you feel they are deserving or not. Have some friggin courage and tell them so that they don't worry or have any concerns. Most parents understand the risk of joining the service, they've read the reports, they've seen the trauma our young men and woman have experienced when the come home. Any decent parent would worry and care.

You stated, "boot camp" which leads me to believe that you are enlisting into the Corps. Nothing is more respectful than our beloved Marine Corps.
