public trough? think about it ! we live in an era of choice but not consequences....YET.
daffyd, that would be dis-honest.
boom boom, i think society is hung up on the notion "as long you are not hurting anyone" ....BUT ONLY IN THE PHYSICAL SENSE. Emotionally people are suffering, that is evident in the massive use of anti-depressants, pain killers, sleeping pills not to mention all the illicit drugs . So i do think our actions have an effect on others even though we may not be punching them in the face.

Morals are subjective. To some eating beef is immoral. Dancing. Playing cards. There were even people in russia who believe sex organs are immoral, so they would cut them off, needless to say, that christian sect died off. If we started banning everything that everyone thought was immoral then there would be nothing left. As long as you're not hurting anyone, or impinging on someone else's rights, you have the right to decide for yourself, what is immoral for Yourself and Your life, as do I. You wouldn't want someone else opposing Their morals on you, would you?

Edit: Please explain to me why you think you have the right to make choices for other people just because they are making bad choices. Or you think they are making bad choices. If you want to make choices for other people (taking pills, bad diets, bad financial choices etc), then what stops other people from making choices for you? Do you think that you would like it if someone decided that you should be medicated? That spanking is wrong so your children should be taken away? Your rights end where mine begin.

I hadn't really thought about it, because while gay, I don't lead a depraved lifestyle, I get respect from those who know me, and I would not ask for handouts at the public trough.

So let me get back to you on this.
