When is the plaid fashion trend going to end?

I've been wearing plaid since I first heard My Sister's Machine and Nirvana when i was about 11 or so, but recently people have started to wear plaid and flannel. When do you think this is going out of style, (for the general public) and how long do fashion trends last?
i bet all of you people saying you love plaid really only love it because of the recent trend. am i correct in my assumption? if not then please disregard this.
