I do not think there will be another Civilization IV since the last expansion pack seemed quite inclusive. I therefore assume Civ V will be out with an update of graphics and the advance of computer gaming technology in general so it could well be a couple of years yet.
As for console, they may try experimenting with transporting Civ IV to various consoles to fill the gap between games.
