When is the best time to take a pregnancy test?

I had sex 9 and 4 days before July 8th, which is when I got my period and the exact day which it is supposed to come. I am on birth control and have been for 3 months. Can someone please give me a time period in which taking a pregnancy test is best? Or can I just take it when my period is over? Thanks!! I am very concerned about whether I am pregnant or not...

If you got ur period,chances of being preggo are slim.
But if u take hpt take it 1st pee in the morning,not sure if it makes difference if its during or after ur period.
