When It's Eurovision

When did Russia and Israel become part of Europe? They not even in Europe.

Eastern Europe only voted for it neighbours.
I that that Andy Abraham was quite good. I like the Pirate Song - Lavitia
Eurovision 'Is Not A Music Contest'
Veteran Eurovision commentator Sir Terry Wogan has said it is time for western European nations to rethink their involvement in the song contest because their chances of winning are "poor". The UK finished joint last this year. Video from the BBC.
Totally agree. Our song (britain) was great compared to most the others, we should have done a lot better. It's not about the songs anymore, it's about politics.
andy was great, yet it isnt bout the music countries just vote for thier neighbouring borders, it should be called euovision friend contest.

Bring back the good old days of Boom-Bang-a-Bang.
With communist countries backing each other as well as scandinavian countries the show has become a Political musical stage!...I`m not saying some of the acts were not good they were and Russia did themselves proud, but why are most of the countries singing in broken english, when they should try singing in there own traditional tongues? Its just like watching a music theatrical and people are not judging the singing but more the show they put on.!
Well done Terry Wogan (UK) who commented on the show while it was being televised....I was in agreement with your observations all the way!

Bring Back the Eurovision Contest we used to know and make the judging more fairer.!!
It's not exactly "becoming" a farce, it became a farce many years ago not long after the baltic states were allowed to compete. Which is fine, but they all vote for one another meaning that the contest would never be held in the west of europe ever again.

Even if we had Queen/Robbie Williams/Take That/Spice Girls performing one of their greatest hits, we'd still not win.

This year, we're as popular as the Polish and Germans. And their songs were pants.

I just console myself with the fact that if it was a worldvision contest, we'd not be the least popular there. USA and China would probably beat us to that title.

My daughter was singing the Latvian pirate song all evening though.

OMG, you are so worried because of a stupid song-contest for little girls? Relax and listen to music you like .
I'm Russian and so I supposed to be glad about the Bilan's victory but I couldn't care less. Like it can change your musical tastes.
As to the neighbours and stuff: East Europe voted for Bilan, because he's already quite popular there .
Just take it easy.
