When is a good date to hike on Tuckerman Ravine Trail on Mount Washington?

I hope to visit May or June.?
Is there snow/ice on the trail by mid-May? Is the trail muddy? I read online that there is snow on the trail for almost ten months. Does anyone know how long the hike is up to the summit? Thanks!
