when i turn on my ps3 there are the weird white translucent lines running up

screen but not on my dads hd tv? okay so my first ps3 did the same thing these odd white translucent lines traveled up the screen and were annoying but i ignored it but eventually it would only play games when it was cold so i figured i would leave it till it broke and not too long it did so i sold it to game stop and bought a new one not thinking i had to start everything over but guess what now the new ones doing it to and i don't have the money for a new ps3 nor do i want to restart is this the blue-ray player or something and is it possible for me to buy the part to fix it and if i can not fix it where should i go to get it fixed everywhere i checked said they don't fix them but they buy broken ones....i know its not my TV which i thought it was before because i just bought a new one and it does it on both the old and the new one and the lines are only there during games... please help
