I have my hdmi audio set to default settings under sounds and updated to the latest driver. I even uninstalled my hdmi audio driver and reinstalled it, but still no luck. I rolled back to the last driver that worked and still nothing. I tinkered with the bios, still no luck... I know its not a faulty hdmi cable because it works when I connect my ps3 to my tv. I also don't think its a laptop driver problem because it works fine with another TV.
The hdmi audio works when my laptop is plugged into my other TVs, but not my samsung hdtv. The picture is working though. Its weird because the audio was working perfectly fine, then i turned on my computer the next day and the audio disappeared. I don't think its a problem with my TV because my ps3 can connect to my TV just fine. My LCD TV doesn't have usb slots so there's no firmware upgrades.
I have a acer1410 with windows Vista and integrated graphics. My TV is an older (2007) Samsung LCD.
