...playstation 2 disc"? ...But here's the thing: it IS a ps2 disk, and i have been playing it for the past year.

but recently, the game disk became cracked from the plastic hole in the middle, to the start of the last gray reflective circle, not a large crack, very fine. Since the crack the game has been playing fine, until today, when I put the disk in the ps2, the browser/system configuration screen came up, as if there was no disk, I checked, and the disk wasn't spinning, I put it in again, the ps2 logo came up, as normal. but that was it, then I started to hear an unusual noise emitting from the ps2, like it was having trouble reading the disk. I put the disk in once again, and the screen with the red boxes and red colours came up, "please insert a ps2 or playstation 2 format disk". I checked the memory card, the manhunt data was on there, as normal.

It can't be the console itself, as I tried another disc, and it worked normally.

I am optimistic and hopeful that the disc just needs a clean (i looked at the crack, it hadn't become any larger, and I couldn't see any other physical problems with it)

I really hope I don't need to buy a new disk, the games banned in my country, and, sure, I could buy a new one of the internet, but i'd like to think there is another solution.
