When I download sega cd roms, which bin or file do I use for the game?

There are a lot of files that come with sega cd roms, and I have no idea which one to use. I tried several, and none of them work. I'm using Gens if that helps.

Please serious answers only. No spam like "idk" just to boost up your point count. :P
