When I delete files off my flash drive, the space is not recovered.?

I had a flash drive, and although I deleted everything off, it said that 1GB/1GB was used, and it was full. So I reformatted it [MS-DOS format], and got my 1GB back. But again, whenever I store a file on it and delete it, my space is not recovered. For example, I put a 4MB picture on it, then deleted it, and now I still have 4MB less space. Does anyone have any idea what's going on here?

dude which os do you use..... if you are using mac... when you delete it from the folder it does not get deleted completely... before removing the flash drive empty the trash in your dock... then only it will be completely erased.

and if you are using a windows... thats odd it should not happen like that....

Maybe it's your computer??? Try formating a different format. try another comp

put the files in folders, for some reason flash drives had problems reading size unless the files are in folders
