When hitch-hiking, what is your reaction when?

Someone loser actually stops about 100 yards in front of you. You sprint to the waiting car (out of courtesy), only to have the car peel out (Dukes of Hazard style) just before you open the door and climb in. As they leave, the tires spray you with gravel and any other junk on the side of the road.
