When have there not been any new Military Aircrafts recently?

I was wondering why there haven't really been any new military aircrafts that have become popular. The B-52 stratofortess is the main bomber and it was invented in the 50's. The F-18, the main figher was invented in the 70's. The C-5, the biggest cargo was invented in the early 70's. and the A-10 Thunderbolt, the most common attacker was invented in the early 70's.
Are the aircraft manufacturers suffering from the depression too?
