When you go to get it pierced with a needle do they just shove a needle through your ear? How do they put the earring on...im really nervous but i really want to get my cartilage pierced!

They acutally use a needle that "punches out" a little bit of your cartlidge, so the piercing does not heal crooked.

its a tiny, hollow needle. It hurts a bit, but only for a second..

okay i got my cartilage pierced in july and the gun is the way to go. i heard needles hurt more and plus if you get it done with a gun they don't have to put the earring on since it will already be in there. it pretty much hurt less than a regular ear piercing in my opinion. like i was so freaked before i got my done with my friend. but it was quick and painless. and it looks great.

GUN, its better.. i have mine pierced, and had it done with a gun...besause then it just punches with the ear ring right in wich takes less than a second and the earing is in :)

i would get the needle its less painful then a gun to be honest with you i would pick a needle over a gun any day! i got my tragus pierced and it didn't hurt at all and it was done with a needle and so was my navel and they didn't hurt at all!

Do not let anyone put a piercing gun to your cartilage ever. It can shatter the cartilage and cause deformity (my cousin's cartilage is all messed up from one). They a hollow needle that has this little tiny plastic tube that feeds through the hole and when they push the earring through it shouldn't hurt and it just pushes the bit of plastic out. =]

Good luck.

You wont feel a thing until afterwards. I didn't even know the lady had pierced my ear. Just be careful when brushing your hair, showering, and even sleeping. You will need to sleep on the opposite ear.
