when doing sit ups or bicycle crunches or other ab exercises...?

do you have to increase the amount or reps that you do them or can you do the same amount all the time?

like if you do 60 sit ups, and you increase it to 100, will you get the same results from doing 60 and dong 100?
i also want to apply the same thing to doing bicycle crunches.

and would the same apply to all ab exercises?
