When do you think I can apply for Kroger ?

I would like to apply for Kroger as a cashier or a stocker but I'm not able to start until May 25. When do you think is best for me to apply ? Is it too early to apply right now ? Also, after I submitted my application, how long from that day should I call them back to ask about my acceptance ??
