when do i do an ovulation test?

If my CM is clear and stretchy do I try a ovulation test now?
Is CM stretchy before ovulation?
Is sore really breats and cramping ovulation? I understand not all people get it but just wandering.
I did have sex this morning though so Im think i might be confusing CM for semen, someone help ive read so much Im getting confused!
