We are having fish for dinner tonite, and I was wondering if my 10 month old can have some. Now, I know it says wait until a year, but we have started several things that say wait until a year with our doctors permission. We started eggs, whole milk, and peanut butter and he has done fine with all these things. Our doctor said the main reason they say wait until a year for most things is because some babies may have allergies that will disappear after a year. She told us to go ahead on these other foods, so now I curious about fish. We don't have any allergies and have found none with my son. My son eats everything and loves variety. Fish has many health benefits, and I also understand mercury levels and the amount that isn't recommended, and what fish have more, so I don't need a lecture on that.
All I am wondering is when did you first give your baby fish?

I don't see any reason why not. Everything I've read says that fish is ok. My son is just 6 months old, so we've just gotten started on the wonderful world of food, but I will definitely be trying fish with him before he's a year.

I started giving my baby (he is 10 months) little taste of fish when he turned 9 months. He has had Salmon and Tilapia. He loves them both.
