for me it's been two years now. the other day i've been thinking it's been with me longer then that. when i was little i remember my dad watching it. then when Days Of Thunder came out, Hardee's had a promo deal were you got a die cast car with your meal. then i remember back in 1992 turning to ESPN i think and watching bits and pieces of a race. then in 2001 it was when i remember watching the Daytona 500. i remember yet watching bits and pieces of the race as well, and then the faitful crash with Sr. then four years ago, a Nascar driver with the Tide Logo car came to my store, and then two years ago i bought Nascar Chase For The Cup 2005. i've been hooked ever since. so Nascar has really been good for me. i hope Nascar stays around for a really long time. Nascar may not be sport, but it is a way of life.

When I was over a friends house in 1997, we played a computer NASCAR game. He kept complaining about how good Jeff Gordon was. Of course, he was a big Mark Martin and Ford fan at the time.

Just to give him a hard time, I started to pull for Gordon.

So it's been 11 years of being a NASCAR fan. It was really great then. Earnhardt, Waltrip, Jarrett, Martin, Elliott were still pretty competitive.

It's still really fun to follow and I've probably spent a lot of money on diecast, shirts and other stuff I don't need.

Once I started to actually get involved, I understood it was a lot more than "cars going around in circles."

Lifelong fan. My dad is very into racing and cars.. He has always worked on a friends' car at the local tracks. Well, now it is the friends' kids' car! He always said he'd "drive the darn things if they weren't so hot." So, racing has always been a part of my life!
The transition from watching racing being normal routine, to me watching it even if I wasn't at my dad's house happened in late high school.

I saw my first race in 1976. David Pearson in the Wood Brothers Mercury won at Darlington. I've been hooked ever since. My main gripe is their leaving Darlington and Rockingham for race tracks out West.
