When did the president's new dog become headline news?

I'm sorry, but every website I go to, headline is "The new white house dog". Is that what we really care about in America now? Don't get me wrong, he is oh so adorable :) Just getting sick of reading about it. We have more serious problems to worry about than Obama's dog.
 
the main reason that US got in such a mess was that ppl were busy with these tirival stuff at the first place,
democracy requires active intelligent citizens
