I just never noticed that almost every car and truck is "Drive by Wire" now. When did this take place? I started driving diesel pick up trucks back in 1999, so I know all of those are drive by wire. I've looked under the hood of a few cars and trucks and found ALL of them without the good old throttle cable. So I would guess that with the change over to true Fuel Injection, this is when it came about. So why all of the sudden all of these out of control cars? I always thought that the vehicles' braking system could over come ANY/ALL positive movement. So if that was true, why can't people stand on the brakes hard enough to stop a runaway vehicle?
