When crimes go unpunished

When has a character commited a crime and didn't get punished for it?

I think the most common one is when a good guy escapes from prison after being framed. The only time I can think of where that crime didn't go unpunished was in the PPG episode Powerpuff Bluff.

In the Kim Possible episode Clean Slate, Shego robs several banks and doesn't get any punishment, because it was a very minor plot point.

Mephesto's brother in "Who's Carman dad? part 2" when he tried to kill Mephesto. (Mephesto only mentionned then his brother who attempted to kill him and it wasn't the 1st time)

Speaking of South Park, Cartman did technically have Mr. and Mrs. Tenorman purposedley killed in "Scott Tenorman Must Die". Even if he wasn't the one who shot them, he did plan on having Mr. Denkins shoot them, and did violate and chop up they're decased bodies and fed them to Scott, which is technically a crime. Yeah it would of ruined an awesome ending but Cartman did technically get away with murder when he shouldn't of, even if that is one of the few times he goes away unpunished for his misdeeds.

You know, it always seems like Jeebs in Men In Black the series--- always got off easy.

He was constantly dealing in illegal materials and tied up in illegal activities and the MIB would be knocking on his door for information.

This usually then lead to the perp of the episode--- but for all we know, it was just another tally on Jeebs' record. He was never deported off the planet for it.

Master Shake more or less gets away with his Crimes in the episode "Revenge of the Trees" and Spongebob and Mr. Krabs' attemp to bump off the health inspector in "nasty Patty" goes unpunished as well.

The was a short of DePatie-Freleng's The Inspector in which the Inspector is hauled off to prison by the French police who mistake him for an escaped convict who looks just like him. The Inspector spends the rest of the short trying (unsuccessfully) to escape from prison so that he can clear up the mix up. The short ends with the Inspector still in prison, so he never escapes and the lookalike crook is never brought to justice.

The lesson to be learned here is that on occasion, crime does pay!

That seems to happen a lot in the Inspector cartoons. Villains like Blotch or the Matzoriley brothers usually escape with the loot while the Inspector loses in the end.

During the 1980's, when most syndicated cartoons were based on toys, they had to make any character that had his own action figure visible on a regular basis to promote the toys. So there were many program in which most episodes ended with the villians escaping, never getting captured or arrested or incarcerated, so they could make regular appearances on subsequent shows. He-Man And The Masters of The Universe was one of the worst offender, but there was also G. I. Joe, M.A.S.K., The Centurions, She-Ra, Bravestar, and too many others to list them all. Considering how many of these shows had "educational moments" at the end of every episode ("and knowing is half the battle!"), they sent a lot of mixed signals to the kids watching the show, including:
--it doesn't matter if you do anything bad, like invent a device that will devolve the entire human race into Neanderthals, because the worst that can happen is your device will be destroyed while you slip out the back door and vow to return. And you can keep that vow, because....
--Heroes need not feel any sense of ungency to pursue an escaping villian, because you can be certain, "they'll be back". Try not to concern yourself with how many people may be hurt or killed when your nemesis does come back, or that their next evil scheme might be better planned and more successful. Just maintain the status quo.

I thought they were alogorical.

The real shame is not mentioning Bendy.

Christ, What I'd give for Bright Noah to show up an' just Bright slap the hell out of that *"ANEF*"!?$231231232.

He didn't commit any crimes. Now, Goofball and Bloo on the other hand... They commited a crime when they stole all that food from the fridge.

Remenber that thief from the early simpsons seasons I think he was called "The cat" or something.. he got away with his crimes, I remenber him escaping after tricking the people of springfield to search for a hidden treasure

You live in the land of lies! Lies and deceat!

The Bandy man and the furries in Pinnochio exist as the anti-courage, the coldblood, the very stuff certain anime business decisions are made of, you must fight the idea that bendy is innocent! SEAK THE TRUTH WITH YOUR COURAGE!

Mon-Star and most of the villains in Silverhawks.
Mumm-ra and most of the villains in Thundercats.
Magneto in the X-MEN series.

In the Woody Woodpecker cartoon "The Screwdriver", Woody is a speeder being chased a (completely stupid) cop. In the end, he drives the cop to the point of having to be commited to an insane asylum. And all the cop wanted to do was to do his job...:D

Jimbo, Dolph and Kearney (from The Simpsons) very seldom, if ever, receive any kind of punishment or comeuppance for their many evil acts, which is why I hate them so much.
