When can I transfer my fish to the new tank?

I have 8 large fish in a 20 gallon tank presently, I have just set up a bigger tank to transfer the fish to. They are out growing the other tank. How do I go about transfering them to the bigger tank. Is it gradual or can I transfer all at once? I have 2 plecos, 2 irredescent sharks, 2 silver dollars, 1 big yellow dude and another fish. I don't want to harm them.
my yellow fish is a severum.
