I am wondering what do you say when an in law or someone else gifts you things trying to basically decorate your house??
I just know my SIL will bring a bunch of stuff and be totally overkill and try to control how our house looks or take credit. I honestly would like to keep the upcoming new house simple while we decide what WE want to do.
She is not nice, it wouldn't be an act of kindness but rather that of control.
I plan to say "oh my you shouldn't have! I hope I won't offend you, we have other plans for that room..."
Is that ok? I mean I know exactly how she will do it. She will come over with $500 worth of stuff and throw confetti and everyone will laugh and say oh she is too much!
And I will be that voice that says thanks but no thanks!
