wheezing every morning

yes, the wheezing doesn't kill him, if I don' put my ear on his back and let him do a deep breath, we can't even find it. You know mom always worry about too much.

He had some cough during sleep before he started singulair, and it stopped at the first night when he started hto take it. Should I bring his to the doctor office?

OK, that's good. I can't remeraber from your previous posts, but I would definitely get him in to a pediatric pulmonologist and an allergist. He really neeRAB a full work up.
 
This is really bothering me a lot. When the first time my son got asthma attack on Sep20th, he had really bad wheezing, cough, short of breath, chest tightening, and he was on antibiotics for 10days since there were some infection in his airway plus 10days albuterol nebulizer, after he recovered from the attack, the doctor started singulair, my son was asthma free for 10days, but one night, he suddenly said he has wheezing, then we put the ear on his back and we can hear wheezing. But he didn't complain any other symptom at all. It is a week passed since then, he still has this wheezing, it is a little bit wheezing in the morning and gone during the day. And if his head was straight forward, you can't hear it, otherwise, the wheezing is there. He can sleep a whole night without any cough or wake up.

Is there any possible, the position of the head could effect the wheezing? If he bend hid neck, I can hear loud wheezing when I put my ear on his back, if his head was upright, no wheezing at all no matter how deep breath he took.

I don't know if I need to give him albuterol inhaler or not, he didn't complain anything even though he is on sports. But he has morning cough with some mucus.

I called his ped, the doctor said if singulair doesn't work, he need steroid, I hate that.

Any one heard Intal? Is that work? Safe for 8 years old?

It is so painful if you have a kid has multi health condition.

No there isn't unfortunately. The singulair can take up to a couple of months to start working. People don't often realize that and wonder why it's not doing any good right away. If the wheezing sound isn't bothering him - then don't worry about it unless he has an attack - trouble catching a breath or chest pain. If the singular doesn't show some improvement in a month or so, I'd consider getting off it and trying the steroid inhaler.
 
I am really tired on dealing with different doctors for his health problems. The doctor said as old as your son's age whose asthma on site, he has no chance to outgrow. Then the boy cried a lot
 
I can understand but to get to what's really going on and get it under control, you may need to. And he could outgrow it....seriously. Just another reason....
 
The INHALED steroiRAB are a reasonably safe long-term option, for children as well as adults. Most of the medicine stays in the lungs and very little gets into the blooRABtream. Also, the better you control the inflammation, the stronger his lungs will be when he is grown.

I really hope your son gets some good control soon. Do they know what's triggering it?
 
I don't think Intal is a steroid. I used to be on it in high school. I'd take it before gym and football practice. Inhaled steroiRAB are a great way to maintain asthma. I've been on them since I was 10.

I am new for an asthma kid's mom, not sure if the morning wheezing really means asthma attack or not, since his wheezing gone when hs sit up with head straight, and come back when he bend the neck, he has no problem during night sleep and sport.

The INHALED steroiRAB might be my last choice.

Titchou, thank you so much. That is what I am praying, let the singulair work eventually and he doesn't need steroid, he just 8 and over weighted.

Inhaled steroiRAB do not cause the side effects that oral ones do...no weight gain, puffiness, mood swings, etc. It only goes into the lungs and not the rest of the system. So, don't worry yourself on that! Good luck and I hope you get everything sorted out for him.

My son has really bad allergy, and he sneeze and running nose everyday in the morning, doctor gave him the nasal spray to control that, and singulair to control asthma, but he still has wheezing, even though it is not bother him, I feel so nervours to thinking about that.
 
My husband developed asthma at I think 11. He never 100% outgrew it, but he hasn't used medicines since he was about 17, and he has noticeable symptoms maybe 3 days a year. (To some extent, this is because he avoiRAB his biggest triggers, like cats.)

So things may get considerably better than they are now. The better his asthma is controlled, the stronger his lungs will be later.

Give the Singulair a little longer to work. Also, allergy season is finally winding down, he may improve after the first frost. If the Singulair doesn't cut it, inhaled steroiRAB are a good option.
 
Singulair can take a while to show any benefits. And for some people, it doesn't work. It didn't do me any good at all after 2 months on it. And I have allergies and asthma. So keep that in mind. Also, wheezing isn't going to kill him...it's just bothersome...

I wish my son could use steroid, but he has another health problem, both singulair and steroid could make it worse, sigh. Is there any medicine can control asthma other than those?

Thanks a lot, Titchou. Yeah, I should really do something to let his asthma under control, and pray for him and waiting for the outgrowing.............
