...made and crushing them? I think we all know the real reason why this happened. Oil company payoffs. But here's a few of the BS reasons they gave.
1. The power required to charge your battery burns coal so you don't help the environment anyway. Except if you actually look at the data for coal required to power these cars even if you ignore that coal is not the only power source available you will find emissions are still far less.
2. The battery only lasts for 120 miles. Aside from the fact the average driver doesn't travel anywhere near that distance in a day, by the time these cars were being decommissioned there was already technology to make the battery last for 300 miles and the first generation cars could easily be converted.
3. People deserve the choice to drive a gas powered car. Does this mean they don't deserve the choice to drive an electric car? And what about our children, nieces, and nephews? Do they not deserve the choice to breath air that isn't making them sick?
4. The technology is too expensive so people wont buy them. Except people were and anyone that has even the slightest clue about markets knows that as a product becomes more common the price is always reduced.
I'll leave it at that so I'm not ranting forever. I know I'll never buy a vehicle from GM ever again. I hope their company finally goes bankrupt. How do you feel about this.
