He Dreams of a Straw House
Here sitting in a yellow cab
The radio is playing and I can’t hear a thing
The smoke fills my lungs from the cigar smoke
The doctor says its killing me each day
I am not a man of many hands
I only have two
Not to pun, but I am not a lucky man
My eyes are green
But the other one looks kind of blue
I don’t have a much of a life to live
I don’t have much of a wife to love
I want to live alone
In a straw house of my own
Don’t try to stop me, society, and wife
I want to live this way because I am free
Because I want to be happy
This life isn’t for me
Sometimes I fall asleep on my bed
Most nights Im awake thinking in my head
I think of that straw house
Nobody can find me
Nobody but that damn sparrow in my tree
I want to live alone
In a straw house of my own
Sometime after this is over
And after the sparrow has flown
I can look down from the heavens
And think
At last my life was worth the living
sorry, in the second stanza it should be "i don't have much of a life to live" not "i don't have a much of a life to life", my bad
