What's wrong with the Dodge Neon?

Other than it being a little small, what is wrong with the Dodge Neon? I have been thinking about buying this car as I have known a few people who had neons and liked them, but other people are telling me to avoid them. Why?

Is there something wrong with them? Does something on them break quickly, or are those people just saying to avoid them because they are too small or something?
 
Um, according to Edmonds, the car tested poorly in IIH Safety testing, and is noisy and underpowered, and fairs below average on reliability benchmarks.
