What's wrong with the arts today?

Has anyone noticed that today's art culture ummm....sucks. This of course is a subjective opinion, however, I'd like to point out a lot of the problems I see.

Firstly music, the music that's being promoted today is all commercial based crap. There's a lot of good music out there, but bands like the Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, Hannah Montana, Lil' Wayne etc. are all shadowing the music scene because of the music industry. It's all commerced/money based, and I think some of them allow themselves to become tools of the industry. It's all fads and franchises, like Disney and the like.

Second is movies. Have you noticed that a lot of the movies that are coming out are based on adaptations and movies that have already been done. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of the new superhero movies, but when I think of movies like The Wicker Man, Dragonball Evolution, X Men 3, and those cheap lame unrated movies, etc. I can see that there are a lot of bad adaptations/interpretations. And though I like some of the new adaptations, it makes me wonder about our originality. I feel like the ocean of originality has been sucked dry, because everything I've been listening to and seeing, it's like I've seen it before. I'm so bored of all this crap that people like to pass off as art.

Talentless people earning success because of their looks, reality t.v, people using steroids to make themselves perform better, plastic surgery obsession

gahhh...I guess I'm just frustrated

The arts has such a profound influence on our youth, and I hate to see people being brainwashed with the crap that's being promoted today.

I guess money is the root of all evil...
