Recently, I came across a problem with my computer playing downloaded SWF files. I don't know what to do and am desperate for answers.
I've downloaded some SWF files and was previously able to play them in IE. But now, when I try to play them, I get a weird error. IE loads up like normal, but then shuts down and I get the prompt window asking if I want to Open the file, Save the file, or Cancel. If I click Open, it loads up IE again, then promptly... does the same as before, opening the Open/Save/Cancel window. If I click Save, it just re-saves the files. If I click Cancel, it just cancels.
I've tried system restore, I've tried redownloading and resintalling Adobe Flash and everything, but nothing worked.
So is there a reason it won't play them properly anymore? Even the ones I've had for a while? Is there a way to fix this problem? I've tried everything I could to fix it but to no avail. What do I do?!
I tried IE AND Firefox, and even tried downloading some standalone SWF players. But NOTHING worked.
I tried the Hijack This thing, and posted a topic on that forum. Someone on there has walked me through a bit, mostly running a Malware scan and removing Malware. But that didn't help fix my SWF problem.
