Whats wrong with my suzuki rg 125?

I have just finished fixing up my rg125 1987. I tried to start the engine but when i turned the key nothing lit up on the clock, when i tried to kick it nothing happend. The wiring has been completly bojed but my dad checked the spark plug and there is no spark getting to it. Something wrong with the coil maybe? Electrics are not our strong point, does anyone have any ideas ? im gutted.
 
If nothing lit up on the clock then the ignition was not on or the battery was dead or the ignition was not wired up correctly.
There are too many possibilities to go through here so you need to get a wiring diagram to work through to see where you have gone wrong if that is the case.
