What's wrong with my mom's 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

We were on the Ring Road, and her vehicle started shaking VERY voilently - it practically ripped the wheel out of her hands! What is wrong with the Jeep, and what can we do to fix it?

Oh yea, its really bad.
 
ok the first dude that answered was weird, and my brother used to have one of them. I would go to a mechanic just to have it checked out.. sounds kinda bad lol
