When I was 12 (May 2009) and I first started my period, it was normal for around two months; 5-7 days a month, the usual. After that, summer had just started so I was at the pool a lot. When it came time for my period to start again, it skipped. My mom thought it was normal and nothing to worry about. It had skipped for around 3 months. Then one night (September 2009) it started up again, and it was REALLY heavy. I was up all night with blood constantly coming out. I had to miss school the next day. For the next 9 months, my period was extremely irregular. It seemed as if 3 out of 4 weeks of the month I had my period, and they were very heavy periods. I was diagnosed with anemia from losing blood, I was missing school a lot because the blood would soak right through my jeans, and I was in and out of the doctors office, constantly being ignored. It wasn't until June 2010 that I had hope. I got a new doctor who had put me on birth control to help regulate my period to normal. It worked great for around 1-2 months. Then, in late July 2010, it stopped working. I would take the pill every night and I would still have my same heavy period everyday. I went back to the doc, they gave me an ultrasound (found everything to be normal) and put me on a lower dosage birth control. It worked. I remained on the birth control for 4 months (till December 2010), then was finally taken off of it. My period was totally and completely normal until May 2011. My periods were actually very light and only lasted around 4 days. I had actually skipped my period from May 2011 to October 2011. I thought nothing of it. I was actually happy that I got to go swimming without worrying about tampons. But on October 30th, I started my period again. Every month I had been prepared around the 30th, because my period would usually start on the 1st of every month. So I started my period. It was very light (as it had been normally), but on November 1st, everything changed. It became very very heavy again. I have to change my pad between every class of mine. I'll sit on the toilet for 10 minutes and the toilet will look like it's full of blood. It's a very bright red color. And another weird thing is that my period is lasting longer than usual and isn't showing any signs of "slowing down". Is this normal? It's already November 5th and I've had it since October 30th... By now it should probably be stopped. Please help! Thank you!!
