Whats wrong with my jeep? Help pls?

I own a 2003 Jeep Liberty Sport. There's a rattling noise behind my steering whenever I drive over bumps, even just the slightest bump for about two weeks now. I brought my jeep to the dealership earlier and they charging me $100 just to inspect. I really thought that they were trying to rip me off, seeing I'm in my 20s so I refused the offer.

Was the price reasonable though? And any comments about my jeep would be appreciated. Thanks
 
when it comes down to something like a rattle noise, and you believe that it's coming from the steering. Then the 100 dollars that your gonna pay at the dealer ship is nothing compared to the cost if something is broken and decides to finally fail at 60 mph. it's hard to say what it is just by going off a quick description.
