Whats wrong with my guitar pedal circuit?

I've found a simple distortion pedal schematic and tried to make one, but i get no sound coming through.
This is the picture:

In the picture, "Guitar +" is the tip of the connector and "Guitar -" is the middle/bottom. The same is for "Amp +" and "Amp -".
