what's wrong with my fish ?

its a betta fish and like on his left side under his fin he has like a hole and its white stuff coming out of it or something. its weird .. is my fish dying ? is it gonna die? ... HELP !
 
If you have a female you may be looking at the ovipositor. Or you could be seeing evidence of a bacterial, fungal, or a parasitic infection.
Could you describe it more, or show a picture?
 
um.. maybe.. if i were you i'd ask someone at a pet store about it. they should know. did you get the beta at Walmart? i got mine there and they don't last long.
