Whats wrong with my fish?

my fish is laying on its side.. on the bottom of the tank and its still alive and it can barley work itselfe to the top for food what do i do? HELP
 
Put it in fresh wter and clean the tank. Try going to the vet or something to see whats wrong. Or call them. The fish can die before that.

Most importantly, get it out of its original tank. Maybe the vet has some meds for the fish.
 
Check your water parameters, and do a partial water change. If the water isn't fouled, go to the pet store and get some Maracyn-two. I don't know for sure what is wrong with it, but Maracyn-two is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. Sounds like fouled water, ammonia poisoning, etc. Get your water in specs, first thing. Good luck!
 
with fish the water ph must be right so get yourself a water testing kit from the aquarium shop for the next lot of fish you buy but first clean and disinfect the tank and change the gravel and any rocks you have remember to keep your hands clean if you put them in the tank buy a book on aquariums also
 
What type of fish?
What size tank?
Have you tested your water?
When did you last perform a partial water change?

Sounds like ammonia poisoning/poor water quality.
